Greater Albuquerque Bicycling Advisory Committee
(GABAC)
What it is: The
Greater Albuquerque Bicycling Advisory Committee with seven
members representing Albuquerque and three representing the
county.
What it does: Advises
the Environmental Planning Commission, the city of Albuquerque,
Bernalillo County, the Middle Rio Grande Council of Governments
and other governmental agencies on plans and programs for
bikeways. Issues the committee addresses include the Transportation
Improvement Program and Capitol Improvements Program. In addition,
committee members monitor bicycling facilities, help promote
bicycle safety and education and advocate for more bicycling
and bicycle facilities.
When it meets: The second
Monday of each month. GABAC meetings are open to the general
public. Anyone interested in more information about GABAC,
please call the City's Bicycle Planner at 768-2526.
